How to maintain a foam cannon?

To ensure that the foam cannon operates optimally and has a long lifespan, it is recommended to rinse it with clean water after use.

Soap and other chemicals wear down both the O-rings and mesh (the steel filter inside the foam cannon), and can crystallize, causing blockages.

If crystallization of soap/chemicals has occurred in the foam cannon, this can usually be resolved by soaking it in water overnight. Then rinse through with lukewarm water until all soap residues are removed.

As much as possible, avoid leaving bottles with soap/chemicals on the foam cannon when storing it. This can lead to both crystallization and damage to the suction hose, which remains in the soap/chemicals.

It is especially important that foam cannons with brass components are cleaned after use. Many modern soaps have a strongly corrosive effect on brass and can, in extreme cases, penetrate into the brass itself and make it porous.

Green corrosion on the brass is a clear sign that a reaction is occurring in the metal.

Use water or a neutralizing solution to stop the corrosion!
